Please tell me I wasn't the only teenager who did this: in the 80s it was a big deal to get that bronze tan, so I would coat my skin with baby oil before lying in the sun.

Those memories came to mind when I eyed a bowl of red palm oil my neighbor brought over for me to play around with. And play I did! I found that the yellow/red color of the oil brought a warm salmon-comock skin tan sunscreenlored tint to a lip balm I was experimenting with. And mixing equal amounts of coconut oil and red palm oil creates a pretty decent tan enhancing cream, especially for those of us with warm-colored (i.e. yellow) skin undertones.  I haven't been out in the sun long enough to see if it protects from sunburn, but according to Dr. Bruce Fife, “the protection you get against damage caused by UV radiation using red palm oil applied on the skin is comparable to commercial SPF15 sunscreen.” The Palm Oil Miracle

You won't find a tan enhancing skin cream on my website for sale, but you can find my recipe on my blog.

April Sponsor: ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) is having their bi-annual conference this weekend and MadeOn is sponsoring by providing 24 product gift bags for the speakers. It's been over nine years since I had a c-section and I'm fortunate to have had four VBACs since then, but it's taken a lot of self-educating. I'm happy to spread the word about ICAN so that women can do what they can to avoid the 33% c-section rate.

LOTION EMOTION
What people say...
Marcee in CA:
"Just had to tell you the wonderful
comment  my husband made.
'Your hair is really shiny, looks healthy.' Later when we got home he says, 'I really like the style of your hair it looks good.' This was totally unsolicited and since he hasn't commented on my hair for months MadeOn hair butter testimonialand the only thing different this week is using your Second Life Hair Butter."

Cathy in CA: "We had been trying coconut oil for my son's skin and it didn't help at all. Within 2 or 3 applications of the lotion bar my son's hands were soft again. We now put it on every few nights or when his hands start to look dry."
