     Vapor Rub Ingredients

I checked out a variety of recipes for a chest/vapor rub and although the there are plenty of workable concoctions, I've found the "base" should include beeswax (as a thickening agent), shea butter (to cream it up a bit) and almond oil (or other liquid oil, to keep it soft). The most important part of the recipe is the selection of essential oils, and I found Crunchy Betty's recipe had a perfect combination of essential oils that work well to clear the nasal passages. So here's what I've been using on our family (it's strong enough for a dad and mom, so use your discretion if using on younger family members):
  •      1.5 oz shea butter
  •       .5 oz almond oil
  •        .25 oz beeswax

Melt the above ingredients. Remove from heat and add:

  •        ½ tsp peppermint essential oil
  •        ¼ tsp eucalyptus essential oil
  •        ¼ tsp rosemary essential oil

how to detangle tangled hairIs there a girl in the house with tangled hair? I had no idea detangling could actually be done in less than 10 minutes. I had the solution right in my house all these years (and you won't have to cut hair, like I did).

Lotion Commotion

I can’t help it. Whenever I find an image, a recipe, an idea or inspiration, I post it to my Pinterest boards. On my to-do list board: beeswax wood polish. You’ll also find various recipes I’ve bookmarked for skin care products, and since we're talking about beeswax, I found ideas for beeswax lanterns, beeswax acorns, modeling beeswax clay, and Lithuanian Easter eggs made using beeswax.

Lotion Emotion

Mary Ann Howitson:
Thanks for sharing recipes and tips, as well as selling your products!  I've read through the whole website, and everything on it excites me!  Thanks for a great product!

Ellen: My hands always look a mess in colder weather, and from dish washing. The lotion bar has really helped keep them soft and looking great!

Alanna in TX: Our family has dry skin, and some of the kiddos have eczema.  In the winter the kids have cracked and bleeding hands and lips. The hard lotion worked wonderfully--the worst parts--hands--were completely healed within 2 days.
